Game Review
Skyroads is a remake of the driving game Kosmonaut. Both games were made by Bluemoon, a small studio based in Estonia. The game was released in 1993 for PC MS-DOS only.
Compared to Kosmonaut, Skyroads is much more polished and it has better gameplay and graphics. It can be considered a driving game, not racing. There are no other vehicles seen on the roads. The vehicle the player is using is a star glider. There are 30 roads that are placed over 10 areas. The player has to either avoid or aim for different colored tiles to be able to complete the game. The end of the game comes when the glider is finally in space after going through a tunnel. The player also had to watch the amount of gravity that they are in. The glider could either be in a weightless environment or in will be so heavy there is no jumping.
Skyroads was released as shareware and became a big seller internationally. The game had one sequel and several clones over the years on multiple platforms. Both Kosmonaut and Skyroads have been released as freeware.

Description of SkyRoads
Skyroads is a fun action game, where you must steer your rocket-propelled mobile capable of jumping through a track of floating panels, tunnels and obstacles. Special panels fuel your ship, speed or slow it or just plain destroy you. Graphics are made with neat, functional plain vectors-- it ain't fancy, but in some tracks the geometrical design and use of colours result in minimalistic beauty. Sweet ole Adlib-music adds to the game's atmosphere, which in itself is consistent. Gameplay is well-though, balanced to be challenging but not too fustrating. Player has an unlimited supply of ships and a loss of one isn't really noted (you just have to restart the track), which is great since you really have to fail a couple of times before you can unravel the secrets of each track.
Overall, Skyroads is highly recommended to anyone who likes arcade racing games. Two thumbs up! Formerly shareware, the game has recently been released as freeware by its developer Bluemoon Interactive, along with the rare X-Mas edition, and early EGA version of the game called Kosmonaut. Three cheers to Bluemoon, and let's hope that more game companies will follow suit :)

'RAMU BAYA:SOOOOOO BORING'?!?!?!? WTF This game is one the best MS-Dos Classics I used to spend hours playing just the demo as a kid
and to those of that have trouble loading a 16-Bit MS-Dos application on a 32-Bit or 64-Bit Operating System go research dosbox actually research what it does don't just use it you'll do yourself a big favor by understanding that a 32/64-Bit OS can't run 16-Bit applications

Boring!?!?! No way.. Skyroads was an absolute classic. Very challenging game. I've spent many hours on this one back in the 90's and also in more recent years. Classic.
